NHRMC Employees Make Record Donations to Support Patients and Each Other
WILMINGTON, N.C. May 11, 2017 – New Hanover Regional Medical Center employees have once again broken their own record for generosity. Employees have committed to donate $300,000 from their paychecks to the NHRMC Foundation’s 2017 Employee Campaign, which supports special projects in the hospital that benefit patients and employees in need.
Last year employees broke the $280,000 mark and a record number of employees participated. This year they outdid themselves again with more than 1,900 employees contributing to a campaign that has raised more than $1.6 million to date in support of equipment, programs and education at NHRMC.
“This is largest amount ever raised in the history of the Employee Campaign, by the largest number of employees participating,” said Kristal McHugh, director of development for the NHRMC Foundation. “It is an honor and a privilege to see the charitable culture of our employees continue to grow in support of our patients, fellow employees and our community.”
The Employee Campaign gives NHRMC, Pender Memorial Hospital, and NHRMC Physician Group employees an opportunity to donate to the general fund or to a particular area of the hospital, including nursing education or the popular Employee Benevolent Fund, which assists employees facing a financial crisis or hardship.
