Novant Health Matthews Children’s Clinic welcomes Drs. Scott Thomas and Meredith Davitte
MATTHEWS, N.C. September 18, 2017 – Novant Health Matthews Children’s Clinic is pleased to welcome two new pediatricians, Drs. Scott Thomas and Meredith Davitte. Both physicians are accepting new patient appointments.
Thomas attended West Virginia School of Medicine and went on to complete his residency at VCU Health in Richmond, Virginia. He developed a passion for pediatrics after he was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor at the age of 14. “I received excellent care from my physicians, nurses and other members of my care team, and now strive to provide that same quality care to my patients,” Thomas said.
After training out of state, Thomas is thrilled to be back in Matthews where he was raised. “I love taking trips to Discovery Place and the zoo with my wife and daughter. I’m also an avid sports fan and enjoy catching Panthers, Hornets and Knights games when I have the opportunity,” he said.
Davitte received her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and went on to complete her residency in pediatrics at Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte. She has a special interest in asthma management and prevention of childhood injury and disease. Outside of work, Davitte enjoys spending time with her husband and son, reading, cooking and watching college football.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to provide care to children,” said Davitte. “As a pediatrician, I believe communication is an important part of the physician-family encounter. I enjoy forming meaningful, long-lasting relationships with my patients and their families that are unique to this specialty.”
