NHRMC Auxiliary Donation Helps Launch 50th Celebration Initiative
WILMINGTON, N.C. April 24, 2017 – New Hanover Regional Medical Center and the NHRMC Foundation would like to thank the NHRMC Auxiliary for a generous donation of $25,000 to support a beautification project at the medical center’s main entrance. The entrance is being redesigned in conjunction with the medical center’s 50th anniversary celebration in June.
“The NHRMC Auxiliary is proud to support a project that will both mark NHRMC’s 50-year commitment to the community and welcome patients and visitors for many decades to come,” said Eileen McConville, director of NHRMC Volunteer Services.
“We are honored to represent the more than 900 volunteers at NHRMC who provide a welcoming environment both at the hospital and in our community locations. We encourage others to support this beautiful project which will extend a warm welcome and offer a place of reflection,” said NHRMC Auxiliary President Stephen Whitney.
The NHRMC Auxiliary raises funds through gift shop sales and special fundraisers to support various programs throughout the organization each year.
“We are grateful that the Auxiliary has taken the lead in supporting this very important project,” said NHRMC Foundation Vice President of Development and Executive Director Schorr Davis. “The new Auxiliary Plaza will be a tribute to all those who have passed through our doors and we encourage the community to be part of the celebration by making a gift that lasts forever.”
The entry will include a spiraling pathway of engraved pavers that leads to a commissioned statue to honor NHRMC’s 50 years of service to the community. The pavers can be engraved with a name or message honoring someone special through a donation to the NHRMC Foundation.
